YAML is for config, JSON for APIs, XML for feeds and SOAP. XML attributes show up in JSON with an @ prefix. YAML lists become JSON arrays.

Important: XML conversion drops comments and the DTD. If JSON has no single root key, the XML is wrapped in the tag you choose.

YAML allows comments (#). JSON does not. JSON → YAML cannot restore comments that were never in the object.
XML attributes (`id="1"`) become `@id` in JSON. `#text` is mixed content.
Format XML only indents. It does not rename tags.
Nothing is saved on the server. Reloading the page clears the fields.
